DESIGN INTENT
The objective of this project was to create a space that was equally modern and liveable. With two parents that travel, but also often work from home, and 3 busy children, this home needed to be one they could all use simultaneously. They required a space that was tailored to their lifestyle and allowed them to spend time together as a family.
CONCEPT
Inspired by the soft muted colours of a misty West Coast morning, the materials and finishes were selected to create a calm, clean and fresh aesthetic. The colour green was chosen as a reoccurring accent in this space; not only because it is cohesive with the inspiration but it was also a symbolic design choice. Green is known as the colour of life and is often associated with growth, harmony and safety.
DESIGN APPLICATION
Large windows maximize the natural light in this home, further enhancing the overall bright and airy feeling. The layout allows them each to have individual private space, as well as properly appointed family space where they can all be together. By balancing the needs of each family member, this home is both efficient in layout and comfortable in design; a true oasis that will allow this busy family to unwind and reconnect.
